Traditional installation tools

Installation

The Forbo Trimmer is ideally suitable for trimming edges, cutting strips (width of strip 10-15-20 and 30 mm) and for cutting seams in one operation.

Making circular and circle strips in the floor covering is straightforward when using the Forbo Compass. When connected to a hot air gun it can also be used for routing. Any diameter between 6 and 200 cm can be scribed, cut or routed.

The Forbo Former consists of a scratching head and a set of templates: 2 triangles, 2 squares and 2 circles, in selected sizes between 10 and 20 cm. This toolkit allows the installer to achieve a decorative floor quickly and efficiently. By combining shapes, all kind of figures can be cut

Welding

Seams and decorative welds in Marmoleum can be routed out by hand with the Forbo Groover. This is a unique tool for preparation of the welding procedure. When routing linoleum, the Forbo Groover is used in combination with the Welding gun. Width of the obtained groove is approx. 3.5 mm; the depth is adjustable.

Ergonomic installation tools

The installation of resilient floor coverings can be performed in an improved and more ergonomic way, using specially designed tools. The general concept behind this method is that many of the activities can be performed in a standing position, rather than on the knees. An adjustable shaft and a flexible joint allow the use of purpose designed basic tools for activities such as levelling, scribing, cutting and welding. A combination of good tools and good technique is vital for a good result. Naturally, Forbo Flooring supports the use of this technique and can supply the necessary tools and support. All in all, with this ergonomic technique flooring installation takes an important step towards a healthy future, in more ways than one!

Screed levelling

The screed-levelling tool is suitable for the application of all types of cement based levelling screeds. The trowel kit is adjustable, so that the correct working position can be obtained. The unique swivel joint helps to achieve perfect results. The screed blade is interchangeable.

Adhesive spreader

The flexible joint on the adhesive spreader allows easy swivelling without straining the installer’s back. All types of adhesive can be applied using the correct blade type. Commonly used blades are added to the kit; for linoleum adhesive (B1, coarse) and vinyl adhesive (A2, fine).

Scribing

Scribing, using the trolley scriber is not only easier but also timesaving. When the scriber is accurately set to the correct angle, it is easy to scribe in a quick, controlled and ergonomic way.

Cutting

The upright cutter allows quick, controlled and easy cutting. Using standard hook blades, it is easily attached to the telescopic shaft.
