Forbo Cleaning & Maintenance Method for Flotex Flocked Flooring

When prescribed cleaning procedures are followed, Flotex outperforms any textile floor covering in appearance. Its smooth upright nylon 6.6 fibres allow dirt to be easily removed. No dry dirt is trapped by any loops or twists (as can happen with standard carpet) and the vacuum action reaches the very base of the pile, meaning that all dirt is removed.

The vinyl base combined with the nylon 6.6 flocked finish allows the floor covering to be fully cleaned with water and detergents. Steam cleaning or mechanical cleaning methods can also be applied resulting in cleaner floors. Flotex is therefore the only truly waterproof textile which enables the floor to be restored quickly and easily even after heavy soiling.

Cleaning after installation

• Vacuum clean the floor using an upright vacuum cleaner with a mechanically powered brush to remove particulate soiling.
• Most stains or spills should respond to the use of clean warm water, however some spills may require the use of a neutral carpet detergent.
• Always work from outside inwards
• Rinse thoroughly and remove excess water
• Allow the floor to dry before use

Regular cleaning

• Vacuum clean the floor using an upright vacuum cleaner with a mechanically powered brush
• Wet clean using either a:
- Hot water/spray extraction carpet cleaning machine
- 3 in 1 carpet cleaning machine
- Cylindrical brush counter rotating carpet cleaning machine

Please note: only neutral carpet detergents should be used and the area thoroughly rinsed with clean water. Always allow the floor to dry before use.

Occasional maintenance

For localised spillages

• First soak stains locally by spraying with a solution of neutral carpet detergent
• Scrub with plenty of warm water, using a machine with brush action suitable for carpet wet cleaning, or hand scrub.
• Remove excess water and ensure all detergent residues are fully rinsed from the floor using clean water.
• Allow the floor to dry before use
