Installation instructions for Coral entrance flooring system products

Adoption of best practise in relation to installation techniques including subfloor preparation is essential to ensure the optimum performance and life expectancy of the floorcovering

Subfloor preparation
The quality of the finished installation will depend on the quality of the subfloor. All subfloors must be sound, smooth, clean and permanently dry in accordance with BS 5325.
Irregularities in the subfloor will be apparent in the finished floorcovering.

Adhesive
The recommended adhesive for use with Coral classic, brush activ, duo, luxe, T80:20 and T32 (except T32 Marine) sheet products is 540 Eurosafe Special.
For T80:20 carpet tiles with bitumen backing, Eurofix Tack Plus 542 carpet tile tackifier is recommended.
The adhesive requirement for T32 Marine will depend upon the marine vessel specification and compliance to any applicable IMO standard.
For Coral Grip with an open structure, 140 Euromix PU is recommended.
For Coral Grip with an Everfort vinyl backing, 540 Eurosafe Special is recommended.

Batch Matching
As with any floorcovering use of different production batches will always result in visible shade differences. It is essential that different batches are not mixed in the same area. When ordering material each floor area must be specified from the same batch. The batch number is clearly marked on the reverse of sheet or tile products and must be checked before commencement of installation.

Conditioning
All products must be acclimatised for 24 hours prior to installation by laying out on a horizontal surface at a temperature of between 18 and 27 C.

Installation - Fitting
Installation must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of BS 5325 or any subsequent revision, and the guidelines contained in the Contract Flooring Association “Guide to Contract Flooring” manual. Rolls and cuts should be stored flat.

For all Coral textile products (except Coral duo) with an Everfort vinyl backing, trim to remove the 2.5cm edge border plus an additional 1cm to provide a suitable edge for butt joining.

For Coral duo (Everfort vinyl backing) multiple width application, remove the 2.5cm edge border from all edges and any further material as necessary to provide a continuous rib design format between sheets. The direction of manufacture of Coral duo is not the traffic direction – ensure the ribs are running at right angles to the walking direction.

Additional product specific installation advice is available from Forbo Flooring UK Limited and must be followed.

Pile Direction
There is an arrow indicating pile direction on the reverse of every backed sheet product.

Install sheets with arrows running in the same direction.
