Also called the Haute Couture of design, the showpiece offers a challenge for both the designer and the manufacturer to express their craftsmanship and talent.
It is an opportunity for the designer to experiment free from constraints. The results are often presented as limited editions that are even in some cases specifically produced for sale to collectors.
